Predatory Journals: Are you searching the literature for articles on a particular topic, or looking for the perfect journal for a manuscript you’re writing?  If so, beware of possible 'Predatory, Suspicious, or Deceptive' journals! GOALS - Grants for Open Access: Researchers and associates who seek to publish in an Open Access (OA) journal may qualify for financial support provided by the Nemours Medical Library. Visit the Open Access Fund page to see if you meet the eligibility requirements.

 

AMA Manual of Style Online:  The AMA guide and associated online resources are available at this link. In addition to being the go-to for punctuation and referencing rules, the guide also provides timely and essential information about reporting guidelines, establishing authorship credential and precedence, research integrity, and more.

Reference Managers: Nemours Children's Health now provides access to EndNote via the Software Center on Nemours owned devices. Please see here for further instructions on downloading. This video will show you "What's new in EndNote 21."

ORCID: Nemours library staff can assist with updating your ORCID profile to comply with Nemours recommendations and best practices as well as federal agency mandates for funded research. See this link for a list of federal agency requirements (note: Google Doc may not open on some Nemours computers).

Medical Library staff assistance with citation lists for publications and grants is limited to AMA and APA style formats.

 

Researcher Resources:

The manual has been thoroughly updated, including comprehensive guidance on reference citations, an expanded chapter on data display, a completely up-to-date chapter on ethical and legal issues, and updated guidance on usage. 

BMJ Impact Analytics is the most up to date and comprehensive tool you can use to track and share the real-world impact of your medical and health research. If you fund, publish or produce research or policy, BMJ Impact Analytics tracks where it’s cited in Clinical Guidance and Health Policy worldwide.

Citing Medicine from the NLM provides assistance to authors in compiling lists of references for their publications, to editors in revising such lists, to publishers in setting reference standards for their authors and editors, and to librarians and others in formatting bibliographic citations.

Covidence is a web-based tool designed to guide users through the process of screening references, data extraction, and keeping track of completed work. It is particularly useful for researchers conducting a systematic review, meta-analysis or clinical guideline.

CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) is a high-level taxonomy, including 14 roles, that can be used to represent the roles typically played by contributors to research outputs. The roles describe each contributor’s specific contribution to the scholarly output.

Register for a new account using your Nemours email with a new password. Search for funding opportunities and set alerts for updates, create a profile, and look for "calls for papers".
